LETTER: Hong Kong Political Prisoners Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
Friday 6th January – Fifteen university professors from ten nations around the world have nominated five Hong Kong political prisoners for the Nobel Peace Prize. Perry Link, an advisory board member of the Committee on Freedom in Hong Kong Foundation, writes, "The five we are nominating symbolise the hopes not only of millions of Hong Kong people who are worried about the fate of their city but also of countless people on the China mainland who cannot express their views." Chow Hang-tung, Gwyneth Ho, Lai Chee-ying, Lee Cheuk-yan, and Joshua Wong are all non-violent and being held in custody.
